Hi. I have received a reply from a dentist working in a free clinic. She asked me the questions "Do you have interest in our clinic? How many hours are you looking to shadow?"
I know the answer for the second question, but how do I answer the first question.

Most dental schools require at least 50 to 100 hours. If you do over a 100 hours you'll cover yourself. Spread it out over the semester or year. Dont rush to do it in 2 weeks because you won't learn much and you won't build the proper relationship with the dentist to get the LOR from him/her.

That's not bad at all, I was imagining it would be like working a part time job for a year.
