Hey everyone,

UW requires a letter of rec. from a dentist but the AADSAS sent them 3 letters from everyone BUT my dentist. Should I send them the evaluation directly or email/call the AADSAS to have them send it out?

either one or both. Sending it yourself gets it there faster. Why don't you call the Dschool and ask? I'm sure they would know better than a bunch of predents

Do it yourself but just make sure they accept it from students ...I mean some times Dschools do not accept things from students. Also make sure that you send sealed & signed envelope or see if your dentist office can mail them directly.

It took forever to get my letter form dentist. I ended up brining to the UW admissions office myself with stamp (signature) on the seal. They said it's fine. So if you want to send it in yourself, make sure the dentist signs on the seal.👍

You sat (or stood) and watched various dental procedures for over 350 hours? Don't you think that sounds a little hard to believe?

sophomore, junior, and senior year of high school and came back on holidays. AND it wasnt just watching procedures I learned how to take x-rays, process them, and read them.

Thanks for questioning my stats but I will let the ad coms decide that for themselves.

I would also like to add that I have 6 manuscripts that i am apart of, 1 of which I am first author. I have amazing work ethic and really enjoy what I do especially when I get into it. So yes, 350 hours of orthodontic/general practice shadowing. And it was alot of fun

just wanted to add that ive seen some people who have 7000+ hours of shadowing.

Sorry if I sounded like an a$$ i just got offended and you put me on the defense.

I actually did more then 350 but I dont have records from my sophomore year of high school (i didnt keep them). But I DO have records from junior, senior, and 2 years of University.

Just remember, 8 hour day is only a little more then a month working - i spread it out over a very very long period
