I have a question about a letter my dentist that I shadowed gave to me. If he gives me the letter and allows me to read it, then perhaps it is not a confidential letter. However, I don't want to bother him again to ask for a confidential letter of rec. Therefore, can I upload the letter to the online letter storing system as a confidential letter? Chances are, he will not see that I did it.

No because chances are (e.g. Interfolio) requires sealed + signed letters. I guess, you can forge his signature but then you get into the whole issue of fraud, etc. etc.
