Forgive me for this poorly written post, I'm in shock and I can't think straight.

I just found out that I'm "probably" mobilizing this fall and I won't be back until next summer. I was planning on submitting my primary next week but now I'm not so sure that I should. If I do apply I'm projecting I will be complete at most schools a couple weeks before I ship out, therefore if I get any interview invites they will come when I'm overseas (If I was complete at a school before I leave, I would call them up, explain the situation, and ask them to look at my file to see if they want to interview me before I go). I've heard some schools will interview a candidate serving overseas via Skype but I don't know what kind of conditions I'm about to be thrown into, I'm going to assume I won't have predictable internet access.

Also I'm really poor and I can't afford to blow these app fees on some **** that's not going to happen because I can't make it to interviews. Plus there's always the possibility the deployment gets cancelled, I'd feel extra stupid if I don't apply and the deployment doesn't happen. What would you do in this situation?

I'm an underdog (c3.16, s2.95, MCAT in Aug.) so the earlier I make a decision and send my app in the better.

I'm really excited about this thing but also extremely pissed because the timing could not be worse.

Whenever you apply, you should be applying for the Fee Assistance Program, which waives the cost of your primary app and submissions to three schools. Many schools will also waive secondary fees if they see you received the FAP.

Beyond that, I don't have much advice for you. Although, with you sGPA sub-3.0, you may want to consider postponing until you can retake any courses that would get you above that threshold. That sGPA may get you screened at some schools.

Godspeed you.

I would apply to maybe 2-3 programs that you think you have a good chance at. You GPA is a bit low and without a high MCAT you will have a hard time. As Carl Seitan says apply for FAP and be conservative with your applications. If deployment gets cancelled and you rock the MCAT you can always add schools in Sept/Oct.

As fond as I am of veterans, your sGPA is not competitive, even for USHUS. Suggest retaking all F/D/C science coursework or taking a post-bac SMP.

Godspeed and thank you for serving our country.
