I'm wondering a few things about Depo. I'm gonna get the Depo shot this Tuesday and was wondering why you hafta be on your period when they give you the shot. Also what would happen if you weren't on your period when you first received the shot?

That's wierd. I didn't have to be on my period when I got my first shot. Your doctor may just prefer that as a way of ensuring that you are not pregnant. You may want to ask your doctor.

First a negative UPT is needed. Second if currently menstrating Depo will not interfere as much with intermentral bleeds which is common for the first 2-3 cycles of Depo. Depo has also been shown to cause bone loss so if at risk for osteoperosis I would not recommend it

I eat too many Dairy Products to worry about that 😀 😀
