could someone give me a good definition of what deposition is...ive tried looking it up but i cant really find a clear answer.

Deposition is the opposite of sublimation. Whereas sublimation is going from a solid to a gas state (bypassing the liquid phase), deposition is going from a gaseous state straight to the solid phase.
