So I feel a little down after being dominated through the first 60 problems of OChem and 60 problems of GenChem. Is there any hope for me? Also are the calculations for gen chem really as insane like in Destroyer??

Did you review the kaplan book and chad's videos first?

Destroyer is supposed to be hard so that you learn better.

I thought the gen chem questions were doable. But I like gen chem. The bio though was really detailed.

Just do the problems, and try to learn how to do them so you get better.

A lot of the problems in the destroyer, especially involving Gem Chem equations, are more extensive and require more steps than DAT problems. But be familiar with each step.

I feel you. I just went through the first 40,30,30 for bio,GC and OC trying to simulate the DAT but ended up getting really frustrated. The Bio questions are really detailed. I haven't even heard about some questions after having read Cliff and KBB. That totally sucks.:scared:

Im glad someone feels me. I know there have to be more people who actually think that its hard. Any advice is welcome, cause gen chem is my achilles heal.

I liked gchem destroyer. I did very well on it (~80% correct after chad and KBB). In many of the challenging questions, if you REALLY do know the principles, it should not be difficult. If you do not, use it as a tool to learn them.

There are a few questions that introduce new ideas to you, so those are forgivable if you are going through it the first time.

Ochem seem to have slightly more of these completely new concepts thrown in that you do not see in Chad's or KBB, so you may get lower scores :X.

However, I have heard from numerous people that OCHEM Destroyer is ABOUT THE SAME difficulty as the real DAT, while genchem is much more difficult. So depending on what you are having trouble with, it may or may not be

Destroyer, in general, is overkill but that's what it's designed. If you can rape the Destroyer, then you WILL rape the DAT.

Nonetheless, the Bio section is SUPER SUPER detailed on the Destroyer and pretty know-it or don't on the DAT. If you studied well and know your stuff, you'll get it. This isn't the case with the Destroyer

G. Chem: Honestly, just skip this part for the Destroyer. WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too complicated. On the real DAT, you don't do calculations, you just "set it up" and that's the answer. The G. Chem on the real thing is WAY WAY WAY easier. I was getting pwned on Destroyer G.Chem and I got 22 on the real thing.

O-Chem: Probably the fairest of them all. I'd say it's still way overkill but it's good. This is the best part of Destroyer.

So if we memorize the Bio section of DAT Destroyer would that put us in a good shape for Biology along with reading KBB & Cliff's AP Biology?

I'm a little more optimistic about the real DAT after reading this post. I have the test on Saturday and some of these Gchem problems are ridiculous..I was like "how in the heck are these reasonable for the real thing?" But I'd rather have the hard stuff now and not see it for the first time when I sit down on Saturday

So I have been hearing from friends who have taken the DAT that the calculations are not as bad. But I guess it is better to learn them now and just be ready in case its on the DAT.
