Describing pubs in research activities instead of creating a separate entry

I have several coauthor publications on pubmed that I got from several different research activities. Just like the title says, I described the pubs while describing those research activities instead of creating a completely separate entry titled "Publications". This is a very minor question, but would my publications not stand out as much because of this? or Would adcoms read the app closely enough that they would notice that I got this many pubs?

I already submitted so it doesn't matter but just wondering.

Would recommend creating a separate publications entry. Many initial screenings for interview will sort it out by category and just skim the titles/categories for what they are looking for.

Put yourself in the shoes of an applicant reviewer: there are 6 of you. You have to review 8000 applications in 2-3 months. This is not even your primary job. Whatever you can do to reduce time.

Is this really a thing?

Yes. But the OP will be fine from a research perspective regardless. With reportedly several research experiences (presumably with many hours logged given cumulation in publications), we will be able to tell that he is serious about research. Publications are nice as they signal greater involvement in a research project, but they are by no means necessary even at the most research-heavy institutions.
