Graduated from university majoring in Biopsychology which is like neuroscience mixed with some psychology. Deals with brain chemicals and pharmacology etc... Avg Gpa is 3.1 with 2.9 science gpa after taking some post bac classes. Post bac classes avg around 3.4 such as anatomy,physio,biochem,etc...

I see pharmacy school as the only way for me to get out of the crappy job I am in. I worked in retail before and some other jobs so I can deal with working as a pharmacist for a retail chain. What are my chances of getting accepted into a program?

You can get in pretty easily, but the problem is finding a job after you graduate since pharmacy is saturated and getting worse each year.

Computer science will allow you to enjoy a better quality of life, excellent job prospects, and pay that is comparable to pharmacy without the $200k+ loans and 4 additional years of schooling.

You will get in no problem. I know at least two FELONs in pharmacy school right now. Pharmacy is not competitive. The hard part isnt getting in like it is for med school. Hard part is finding a job. Save enough of your loan money to bribe a regional manager.

I applied to 10 schools this year. 8 have already said no and the other two don't look at applications until January. So yeah, not everyone who applies gets in. It's a tad more competitive than you are making it sound.
Also...two felons? really? that makes me even angrier. Perhaps the key to getting in is commit a felon!

Stoich and Humble Sloth are jerks who troll this website in their free time. Pharmacy school is still relatively competitive. Yes, job saturation is a threat, but you can still find jobs. Unaccredited schools, pending accreditation will more likely accept people who have preformed poorly on their pre-reqs, PCAT, etc. or are FELONs because the school is not in demand.

I agree, stoich and humble sloth use scare tactics and exaggerations to make others discouraged to apply. Don't listen to them!

So never mind all the facts and statistics about stagnant pharmacy growth rate and schools opening like crazy?

Stagnant? So, 3% is stagnant? Wow, you must have done super well in stats. It's below average, but it's feasible to find jobs. People can find jobs if they're willing to relocate, do residency, gain experience, etc. etc. Are you immediately going to get offered a job before/right after graduation like you used to? No, you have to work for it. But, if you put in the effort it WILL pay off. University of Kentucky COP actually was able to get this past graduating class 400 INTERVIEWS. 400 for 136ish students in their graduating class. That's freaking crazy good. This is the school I'm attending next fall.
Just go to a good, accredited COP work hard, gain experience, and you'll be fine.
Stop spreading so much negativity on this form.

The stats are bloated and faked. They prob accepted more than 350 out of 400 just 200 decided not to go to that school.

You can't assume that. So, tell me why there's thousands of pharmacy job listings? if it was stagnant we would only see a few for every state, but that's not true. Even in Lexington, KY (where UKCOP is), there's several job listings and that's with 2 pharmacy schools in the state. And I said 400 pharmacist job intereviews, not candidates. ~400-600 people apply to UK every year and only 200-240ish get accepted (many don't attend) for 140 seats. These are the stats on average most years. UK also MUST have a pharmacy school interview for candidates, they don't have time to review everyone.
I'm insanely frustrated by your pessimism. I don't know what the pharmacy profession did to you to make you such an a**, but you need to stop.

The number 240 interviewed can be very misleading. Many people who are offered an interview do not reply or decline. So in actuality more than 240 were offered an interview but only 240 accepted it.

Pharmacy schools also send letters like, "if you are still interested in our program, you must reply in 1 week". If no reply, the applicant is dropped. So this makes the school look good. But in reality these students have moved on and they had rejected the school by not replying.

Remember these numbers are not audited. There is no standards. They are posted by the school and schools are not going to post numbers that make them look bad.

sure maybe 1,000 job postings. But what you are missing is that there are 50,000 pharmacists applying to those jobs

this is the key statement. 99.999999% of the time these numbers are faked or severely manipulated for marketing purposes. The reality of pharmacy today is that appliactions are down by 35% and schools are looking the other way as they accept felons (i know a convicted murder that was accepted this past admissions cycle), child rapists, ex heroin addicts, individuals with 2.2 GPAs ect.

schools need to fill their seats by any means necessary in order to secure federal loan money from the students.

pharmacy is not the profession it once was.
