After reviewing every single Chad's GC vid and taking some hardcore notes, I dived into GC section of DAT Destroyer and I'm getting like 50% of the questions wrong. I was like OMG I'm effing screwed!!!😱
Am I really screwed or is this normal?

Pretty normal. I just finished going through Destroyer the second time. I still probably only got about 75-80% right on both Organic and Gen Chem. It has a lot of trick👍 questions, but from everything I have read, if you master it then you will do well. Shoot for going through it about three times, each time making notecards or something with the mistakes or concepts you are having trouble with.

Its normal. The questions that you see in the Destroyer will never make it to the DAT because we can't use a calculator and a lot of the questions in the Destroyer, require a calculator.

Don't sweat it. What I'm personally doing and this seems to be working fairly well is after each video I watch from Chad (note: do not take notes, seriously just sit there and listen) I go to the Destroyer and skim for similar questions relevant to the lecture I had just seen. Try it out.

BTW, anyone know what Chad's occupation is? Teacher @ ASU? I wonder what he would get on the DAT if he took it lol.

If destroyer is messing you up on the first try... you are using it correctly lol

First time through destroyer GC, I was getting about 45% correct, 2nd time around, I was in 80%s. Similar thing with Orgo.

The trick to using destroyer is to cover this resource multiple times.

He is listed the Manger of the Learning Resource Center for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at ASU. He is loved by all! Besides just being in the LRC, I've heard he has/had trained lab TAs too. Not sure though.

He also holds reviews for every chemistry midterm and final (at least for CHM 1, 2 OCHM 1, 2 from my experience). There are multiple lecturers and different exam dates, so that means a ton of hours in these review sessions which are usually at awkward times when he can get an open lecture hall. Before my day, I heard of these 10 hour Saturday review sessions for OCHM finals.

People frequently ask why he doesn't teach. He has probably saved so many grades with his reviews. But as I understand it, he's happy doing what he does. I've head rumors about performance on entrance exams, but I think they're just rumors. But I think it's safe to say he would destroy them. Can you tell I think highly of him?

I think it's worth giving a shout out to the fellow who started recording his reviews when he was an undergrad and has taken it to this level. I won't call him out here in case he doesn't want to be identified or something. But he's tech savvy and very entrepreneurial and I don't know how in the world he has time for it all. They're helping out a lot of people...for a SUPER cheap price.

This is all.

Is the same concept for bio destroyer as well? I answered 70 the first time and I got 15 wrong but I feel like these questions are MUCH harder than the practice ADA DAT test

Yes Destroyer questions are meant to "teach" you where as test questions are meant to "test" you.

Learn material from destroyer. Know information about both right and wrong answer choices. This is how you get your money out of it😉

From my personal experience with DAT.... there is no correlation between destroyer bio to real bio.

Destroyer bio is (IMO) not that good. Sure it emphasizes details here and there, but DAT bio is more concept base. You need to apply your biological science knowledge to answer the questions.

IMO, If orgoman wants to take his product to the next level, he should include a review summary of all the major concepts of Bio. He should gather all info from various resources (cliffs, exam kracker MCAT bio, and Campbell) and formulate his own version (WITH COLOR PICTURES), accompanied by his 400+ practice problems and he has himself the ultimate package.

I was destroyed by the DAT destroyer, too. if you learn from your simple mistakes, you can destroy DAT later on!

As Jeffity mentioned Chad is listed as the LRC manager but like many jobs it is just a title that ill fits the job. He works insane hours giving tours to all the incoming freshmen at ASU because of his ability to connect with them, he teaches all the review courses for all the different chemistry classes by all the different faculty so has to be intimately familiar with each members teaching AND testing style and teach to it. He also fills in whenever a teacher gets sick or otherwise needs a sub. He also teaches a lower level chem class to the incoming newbies that helps build their confidence and excitement showing them that they CAN do it. In passing conversation I have heard him be involved in the hiring of upper level professors, training all the TAs and countless other things.

When I went to ASU and was taking classes, I would have an Organic Chem question that I would go to the LRC to get help with and sometimes would end up waiting 45 minutes to talk with Chad because the other 3-4 people that were supposed to be able to help really just couldn't and would refer me back to him 🙂

His obvious love of teaching and helping people is why he is where he is, not because he couldn't be doing something else.

Happens to us all. Its a big joke, Destroyer. We all just recommend it to people who dont know any better so they can similarly get ***** raped. Pass it along now!

The general concensus on here is that Destroyer is a lot harder than the real thing. So worry not!
