If 20 ml of 0.012 M solution of Ca(OH)2 is added to 48 ml of HBr, what is the concentration of the HBr?

The answer is : 0.01M

Could someone please explain this. The explanation that Dr.Romano gave in the back of the book was kind of confusing.

Thank you

use equation N(acid)V(acid)=N(base)V(base), n= NORMALITY, N>=MOLARITY; N is the normality of species of interest. for acid base reactions u are interested in knowing how many equivalents of H+ and OH- will u get.
from question u know N for Ca(OH)2 is 2 so and that for HBr is 1. just plug and play.
