Biology is the last section that I am going through and it is kicking my butt. I did well on the chem sections but so far after 60 questions of Bio I am coring 55%. Anyone experienced this? I have read through Barrons Ap Biology and took notes, most of Kaplan at least once. I have the DAT scheduled for Aug 7th, this is starting to scare me.

Tell me about it, my test is in two weeks. I have gone through Kaplan's BB once, and thoroughly through AP Cliffs (which is really helpful). Then, I sat down and attempted the Bio Destroyer. Let's just say it made me cry. I don't know how great of a representation the Destroyer is of the actual exam, but I don't think it is a good one. I bought Shaum's yesterday to tie loose ends.

5k9, im taking the DAT in about two weeks as well. im going through the entire destroyer in DAT-sized sections (i take 40 probs BIO, 30 probs GCHEM, 30 OCHEM, and 40 QR a day and review my weak topics- or try to at least) and bio isnt the easiest. my scores (using the DAT conversion chart) are hovering around 18-19 and it's a little unnerving this close to the exam... i wasnt aiming for straight 19s...

I hope the real DAT is easier than DAT destroyer. I am golden in the GChem and Ochem sections but I am sucking at bio, I am getting around 65% correct right now. I have done the first 170 problems.

GOLF, what are you doing in your last two weeks? What is your status on your studies? For myself, I've gone over the whole sciences and PAT, but have not yet touched RC and QR. I'm pretty good on PAT, OChem, need to brush on GChem in the next three days, and I'm always sketchy about Bio because it's never consistent, you'll never know what bone you'll get thrown. I'd really like to know your status/what you're doing. Thanks.

Guys just to inform you the destroyer made me feel the same way i thought bio was my strongest subject until i opened that book up ......haven taken the test once it is a good representation of the test because the questions are so far out there just like the ones on the DAT......the only way to get good at bio destroyer is to go through it again and again and read the solutions carefully because they will teach you a lot.........the questions are hard but once u go thru them once even getting them all wrong and go through it again u will have learned a lot and the samething to the point where u know every single answer in that book then u are good for the test but def. a good representation of the test......im worried abt orgo and gen chem myself test at the end of the month!

in my last two weeks im just getting through the destroyer. yesterday i knocked off the rest of the organic section and ill probably try to get through the rest of the destroyer tomorrow because i only have a little left with the other sections. bio i think i still have about 100 probs tho. im doing a full length practice test every other day (doing topscore 2 today). i haven't really focused on isolating my rc - my scores for RC are staying up there in the 22, 23s with good old search and destroy method. i think i might try a mix of mapping and search&destroy on the RC section of my practice test today though. I'm also trying to hit CDP tests every other day - i have the 10 test pak and i've been just selecting "random test" on there and taking whatever they give me. i've taken at least 7 or 8 CDP "random tests" so i don't really know my scores for test 1, test 2, etc. my PAT sections on practice tests seem to hover around 23. I think next week i'm going to try and go through the destroyer one more time, at least the bio section.

i've been keeping a marble notebook filled with all the errors i've made on practice tests and in the destroyer and all the stuff i think i might forget. i just look over that thing while i'm at work or just eating dinner or something. i've read the kaplan blue book cover to cover, but it didn't help - i think the way to go is the destroyer, just doing all the problems in DAT-sized portions and reading each explanation and keeping track of things you didnt know or might forget in some notes.

i haven't actually signed up for the DAT yet, but i was planning on taking it the week of the 20th or 27th - depends how good i feel after this weekend. i'm really feeling good after this past week of studying and hopefully this practice test im about to take will be alright and not just abuse me.

i have a feeling the QR section on the DAT is going to be a monster - not because of the difficulty for me, but because of the time - i make *****ic mistakes sometimes with my calculations and get tangled up in the numbers and end up wasting time for nothing.

the qr section in the destroyer seems like good practice, though i don't know how it compares to the real DAT.

bottom line, im basically gonna try to get through the destroyer a second time this next week and hammer practice tests and a CDP test every other day along with this destroyer junk. keep me updated 5k9; this forum has helped me feel better about my own DAT studying and seeing that i have company in this uncertain terrain is slightly reassuring.

i really don't know how exactly i'm going to be able to get studying done with the british open coming up july 16th and the tour de france going into the mountain stages tomorrow. tiger and lance are stellar to watch , and i could TiVo them but there's some crucial excitement that's lost when you're not watching it live, yadadamean?

you better jump on that soon, or you'll probably find that you can't get an appointment when you want it, or have to travel really far to get one. you're supposed to schedule that around at least a month in advance!

I have 35 more questions to do in destroyer bio and will be done the first time through, I will post my scores and we can compare to see where everyone is.

My first time through the Bio section of destroyer I got 67% correct after reading Barrons and taking notes, and just reading Kaplan BB. What do you guys think?
