I'm working on my 2nd run of destroyer and I'm wondering is anyone irked/bothered by the some calculations destroyer expects mainly for chem.

I'm not using a calculator and i'm going how am I going to estimate what
-log (0.035) or -log(0.00009)

Maybe I"m getting frustrated or something. test is in 3 weeks and some problems stump me. well its more like WTF is the equation again.

I can't be the only one right?

-log (0.00009) ~~ -log(0.0001)
-log (10^-4) = (-4)-log(10) = 4ish

-log (0.035) = -log (3.5 x 10^-2) = -((log 3.5)+ log (10^-2))
~~ -(0.5 -2) = 1.5ish
**3.5 is about the square root of 10, so log 3.5 ~ log (10^.5) =0.5

I agree some of the other math can be a bit challenging without a calculator, though.

Ok at least I don't feel like I'm getting completely stumped with the math. Kaplan's subjects are doesn't even bother to ask anything close to this. I haven't opened up topscore yet to see.

but yeah that's what I did too.

i figure 4ish. turns out it was more 3ish.

4ish resulted in my pH calculation coming to be be 10.

the answer choices had both 9 and 11. :bang:

Hopefully come test day I won't get anything where the numbers are that close.
