My main concern before the test is QR since i have been consistently bad at this section ever since i started studying. I have CDM and the Destroyer combo. All of the math problems from the destroyer combo book that also has orgo and gchem seems to be really doable as far at the QR section. Now as for CDM, im really struggling. Of course since CDM is timed, it makes a difference but also the problems on CDM seem to be a lot more complicated and time consuming compared to the Combo destroyer. I have my test is 2 weeks and i could really use the advice for those who have taken the test and could approxumate as to which math source the DAT is more similar to.

Thank you!

Hey I'm in the same boat as you with being slow and bad at QR....never have been great at math.

I haven't taken the test, but I've been studying for a couple weeks now and am taking it in september. I started at 17ish diagnostic with CDM and by the 6th or so test I'm around 25 with time to spare. You'll notice the type of questions CDM asks after awhile and learn how to set them up quickly. So I like CDM because it covers a few topics well and gets you quick. Make sure to take the test and go over slowly the strategy in approaching and setting up the problem. Obviously you don't want to get in a groove and too comfortable with the format of CDM, but keep breaking down the tests and you will get the hang of it.

Destroyer is great because it fills in some of the gaps that CDM doesn't cover and also shows you shortcuts for some of the problems. Since you have 2 weeks, what I would do is just take 1 CDM every other day and do 20 or so destroyer problems. The next day go over the problems you missed and/or review the questions you were shaky on.

Hope this helps!

math on the dat will resemble a lot of resources..........your old textbooks shud be used along with kaplan review book and questions...........the dat destroyer will be a good resemblance of what you may expect in terms of difficulty and variety of questions.........your best bet is to work with that since it has tons of problems.........crack dat math from what ive read on the forum is not a good representation for the test......so work with these tools and ur timing and things should turn out the best for you......best of luck
