Can someone help me understand this:

H2O+H2O--> Oh- + h3o+

If temp is decreased and Kw is decreased, which is ture:

1. exothermic rxn
2. edno rxn
3. thermoneutral
4. not possible; Kw = 10^-14 at all temps

isnt this an exothermic rxn since its a acid base rxn!?
does decrease in temp favor this rxn? why?
how does kw has changed??

thanks in advance

KW = [H+][OH-] so if KW is lowered H+ and OH- conc must also go down. This means that the products are less favored with a temp decrease. Meaning that the products are more favored with a temp increase, the sign of an endothermic rxn. That's why it's B (endothermic rxn).
