Shouldn't the answer be A instead of D because branching decreases BP and MP?

I don't have the actual problem... but for the same number of carbons, branching can actually increase the melting point and decrease the boiling point.

The melting point change depends on the overall shape of the molecule. If the branching makes it more "compact", it will fit together more snugly in the solid phase, and this will make the melting point go up.
