Quick question on one reaction in Destroyer roadmap 2.

You have a Ph-CH2OC2H5 reacting with excess HI, and heat to yield --> Ph-CH2I + C2H5I.

My understanding this is not that Haloform reaction as that tests for methyl ketone. If I drew out the reactant correctly, that is not present here. So what reaction is this? Or shall I just memorize this and move on?

just the acidic cleavage of an ether. typically it would yield an alcohol and an alkyl halide, but since HI is in excess it can further react with the resultant alcohol and produce another alkyl halide.
