So my d-day is coming up quickly (June 24) and I'm thinking I'll have about 2-3 only to go through either destroyer or bootcamp. I have dat destroyer, ochem odyssey, and math destroyer. I don't think I'll be able to get through them all sufficiently in that amount of time, but not sure. Ochem takes me a whole bc I learned it from scratch. Also, if I concentrate on destroyer, I'm not sure I'll have enough time to do bootcamp and that worries me , based on what everyone says about it on here.

So, would anyone suggest skipping destroyer completely and sticking with bootcamp only ? Any other ideas on how I can efficiently incorporate both resources?

Thanks!

Honestly, I'd use a combination. They are both great and I find them invaluable. It's not necessary to completely go through both - I think the variety will be extremely beneficial.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Ppl on here say they go through destroyer like 3 times, just freaking myself out that I'm gonna run out of time

You have plenty of time to go through destroyer 2 or 3 times. just manage your time well. If you can do destroyer questions you are golden.

I would like to try math destroyer after I finish chads bc I suck at math. Since my time is going fast, I think I'm just freaking myself out and want to make sure I cover every thing, and I still haven't really touched math or pat bc I've been so focused on the sciences. Hopefully I can finish review this week, which will give me 3 weeks to go nothing but destroyer and bootcamp

You have plenty of time to go through the materials. However, if Orgo is your weak subject , Do Not skip the Odyssey. You need all the practice you can get. Study the roadmaps and reactions. Put some time into it. It will show when you get your scores.

Someone here said they did 50 questions from Destroyer for each section per day. If you can do that without burning out, you'll have plenty of time

That would be me that said it. It's definitely possible, but you need to stay committed. I would usually do 10 questions, then check my answers, 10 more questions, then check my answers. It would take me about 1.5-2 hours to get through 50 questions, so 4.5-6 hours for OC, GC, and Bio, which IMO isn't too long. You can take a 20-30 minute break between sections, or split it up and do some QR from Math Destroyer or PAT practice. It's all about finding a balance that works for you.

I'm using basically this strategy starting Tuesday. I honestly don't have time for anything more, but I think this will be sufficient. That gets me through Destroyer approximately once per week? Challenge accepted.

You'll definitely get through the chemistry questions, but IIRC there are more than 400 Bio questions. so you may need an extra day or two for those. Getting through it the first time is the hardest. Make sure you don't just go through it, but you take notes for each question and review those notes. If you do this, the second time will be much easier, not because you may remember the answers, but because you actually know the concepts. Sometimes I wouldn't ask myself "why is this right?" I would ask "why are these answers wrong?"

Whatever you decide to do, don't skip the destroyer it's a must.both the math destroyer and the DAT destroyer.any extra resources will be helpful.and you can always ask questions here

Yeah, that's actually not too bad and would give me plenty of time to get through everything. I'm studying now about 8 hrs a day, so 6 should be plenty of time to get through, and allow me to incorporate some math destroyer and PAT practice. Reading is just going to have to wait lol

Thanks! I think i'm gonna go ahead with both. Hopefully I can squeeze everything in

Reading is a crap shoot. I'm not a great reader by any means, I took 3 or 4 practice tests with Bootcamp, crack, and DAT Qvault... I got a 24 on RC. Have a clear strategy going in

Use the destroyer books. The bootcamp materials are filled with errors. Also the bootcamp books don't even have the nerst equation

Thanks, but from what I've heard, bootcamp is one of the most useful study tools around recently. I'm not really sure why you are bashing it so bad on these forums, especially when many people have recently posted breakdowns stating bootcamp was much more useful then destroyer. One even specifically said he never even needed the nerst equation...not sure what your deal is with that!

I did not start this thread bc I was unsure of the accuracy of either study material; I just wanted to know which would be better in my individual situation.

You'll have more time than you think.

The Destroyer takes a long time the first go-round... and then it gets a lot faster through subsequent reviews.

Thanks, Glimmer. I'm still only on day 2 of Chad's for orgo, though, and considering I havn't taken that class at all, I really starting to freak out!!! I did do orgo as 2nd lang though, so I have some knowledge of the basics. Just getting irritated with all the mechanisms...ugh

I've seen most of your thread postings, and you seem to be bashing DAT Bootcamp and promoting other prep materials at any chance you can...I suggest you start thinking about how best to help the people on these forums instead of listening to whoever pays you to spout lies and promote wrong information, because you are an injustice to what the SDN community represents.

Bootcamp isn't even a book so you may be referring to a different resource.

I didn't need the nerst equation at all on my exam...Plus it's not like it's something we can't just look up online...

But I agree with daneasour (sorry if I butchered that!). You should do a combination of both Destroyer and Bootcamp if you can. I did both for the last two weeks. It's nice to get extra practice questions from destroyer but I felt it was important to be used to answering on a computer rather than a book. So the combination was prime for me to understand the sciences. I didn't get through all of destroyer a second time so don't worry about that. I don't think it's necessary (but would be nice for extra question exposer).
