hey peeps..

i'm an Egyptian medical fresh graduate.. i'm going to start my internship in March..

i was wondering if anyone overhere knows about post graduate studies in Germany..

how to apply for it.. and could i start before my internship is over?

i already have 2 of my friends there in Germany..but they r dentists.. they are studying what's called "Fach Arzt" or something.. what is it called for medicine?

i'm sorry if i sound like a total n00b..

peace out😉

If you have a completed medical degree from Egypt you can apply for your Facharztbildung (residency) in Germany. However, you have to take an equivalency exam. I dont know much about it, but here is some info about board certification

thanx a lot for ur reply med_heidelberg..

i tried the link u posted.. it's just all in German.. is there anywhere where they have info in English?

thanx in advance..

If you want to do a residency in Germany or work there as a doctor, you will have to pass a German language exam, and you have to be fluent in German. Most patients dont speak English. Most of the doctors do, but you cannot get by just on English. Sorry.

True, it's basically a requirement in ANY country that you're able to understand, and at least resonably speak, the local language. Otherwise, you not only will have problems communicating with patients, but you'd also be having a real problem treating patients (e.g. how will you read the pt's records? or evaluate findings from rads, path, chem)?

Ok guys.. thanx for responding..

u r totally right..

i already know that i need to speak fluent German to be accepted anywhere there..

i'm already taking German language courses, and i'm willing to go to Germany on a language studying course to improve my language..

is there anything else required other than the German language and my medical degree? or do i need to pass some sort of a license exam to practice medicine in Germany? and is there actually a language test? coz my friend told me that i just need to have an interview in the hospital (coducted in German)..that's how they'll make sure i could communicate with patients..
