I am curious as to what procedures a diagnostic radiologist does? What percent of their time does a DR is spent on procedures? How do you think the procedures done by a DR will be affected by the new IR/DR Dual Certificate?

bump, im also interested in hearing how much a private practice NON-IR radiologist can get involved in procedures.

In my opinion, large-joint injections/arthrograms, most abdominopelvic abscess drainages, LPs/myelograms, and uncomplicated renal/liver/thyroid/nodule biopsies should within a DR's wheelhouse. Subspecialists frequently do more (body - perc neph/biliary/chole, ports) (MSK - small joints, biopsies) (neuro - diagnostic angiography) (breast - biopsies, needle locs). Your practice is highly customizable.

QFT.

Larger institutions will have more specialization, i.e. body will cover US-guided liver biopsies, neuro will cover LP's, MSK joint injections, etc.; but DR handles everything except vascular work, epidurals, neph tubes, and kypho at my house.
