Did any of you volunteer as a counselor in a youth summer program? How was it?

I will be volunteering at this non-profit organization. I was there today as an observer and I noticed that the kids are wild! haha. No problem...but what if one of them gets hurt? DOn't want to get sued. Additionally, I noticed that there was only one volunteer (a high school student) who was basically doing everything. I don't know guys. I just don't get the "feel" to volunteer here. The problem is other places are closed for volunteering and this is the only place available. What to do? And I don't have any significant volunteering. Just suck it up and do it?

The organization will have insurance to cover injuries to the campers. And if the parents want more than the policy limits they'll sue the non-profit not an individual volunteer.

If you don't think you'll like it, I probably wouldn't do it. That sounds like a recipe for the worst summer ever. But then again, maybe you'll turn out to like it.
