Yep, it's just a shell game until you eliminate intermediaries in the system.the gist of the story was that even if facility fees went away, the hospital would charge more in other areas, professional fees, meds, etc.
since most hospitals do not have great margins, i wonder how many hospitals will close when facility fees go away.

perfect time to get rid of facility fees.
and hospitals.
SB 539 will prohibit companies from charging a hospital facility fee at practices where the justification doesn’t apply – hospital-owned clinics not on the campus of a hospital, and routine “evaluation and management” services that could be done in lower cost settings.does this mean ASC facility fees will be illegal?
Yeah. I mean, who really needs an emergent cath lab and neuro vascular services? I mean most people survive MIs and why do you really need BOTH arms?Don't confuse cooked-up Profit and Loss statements based upon inflated estimates of "community benefit" with balance sheets. Look at their balance sheets...these nominally non-profit hospitals make going broke their business model.

The community benefit of a hospital is undeniable. The community benefit of your local libertarian is zero
