So I finished submitting my secondaries around mid-August. I haven't heard back from any schools...Anyone on here applied late and heard back from schools regarding rejections/interview invites?

Getting nervous and it's tough seeing all my friends with interviews and acceptances already...

Oh wow thanks for the thread! Although it seems that many people who applied after me have been hearing back which just makes it so much worse :/
Ahh no the point of that was NOT to make you feel worse. I retract! The point was to say you're not alone. There are also plenty of people in that thread who have yet to hear back and also that applying late (which arguably you didn't do) does not mean you won't get IIs. Don't compare yourself to other people; the only application that is important for you is your own.

Most people on that thread haven't heard back at all or maybe have only heard from IS schools. Could also be URM or with some connection to the school which is causing them to be filtered from your average applicant. If you look at the school-specific threads, most august applicants are awaiting in silence, so try to relax.

Can confirm. Most of my August secondaries --> Silence

Not late at all.

You may get an II tomorrow, or in March.

However, you should consider yourself rejected and be working on improving your app, until that accept email shows up in your Inbox.

I sent most my apps between 10/6-10/18 and have received interviews from 4 of the 15 I applied to!!! All schools except one of those were top 20, so don't give up hope!!! I did reach out to schools directly about my late app and talked with some people in the administration at certain schools, so if there is a reason you maybe applied late other than just needing more time to write, it might be worth reaching out to schools.

I don't want to sound harsh, but you are URM with high stats, so you are very sought-after and most applicants won't be in your situation.

If you don't have any interviews by American Thanksgiving (which is late this year), then you can start to worry. Meanwhile Gonnif will say that you should continually be improving your dossier so, if you have to reapply, you can demonstrate that you weren't just treading water during your application year.

Just to be clear, by interviews did you mean interview invites or interviews attended? And I guess there's still a month left to Thanksgiving. Unfortunately even if I get any interviews by then, I won't be able to attend any in December (assuming those spots aren't taken up already).

Invites. If you don't have any invites by Thanksgiving, it is time to start thinging about your next application cycle which may be 6 months away or may be 18 months away... that's something to be thinking about.

I have not heard back anything yet either. Don't worry, there is still time!

However, I learned last week that a paper I have been working on has been accepted. Should I submit an update to schools now, or should I wait until its Published and has a PMID? Thanks for your advice! @Goro @LizzyM @gonnif

that is definitely fair! Reaching out helped me but I do agree without the stats and URM status, they might not have been very well received!
