I have been a long time lurker of SDN and decided to post my scores and breakdown so it might help others.
I studied for about 5 months beginning in January. I was still in school so I didn't have a lot of time but I got a lot serious the last 2 months. The DAT Destroyer and Math Destroyer prepared me the most and I owe my science and math scores to them. It was very frustrating at first but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. For sciences I made flash cards upon reading the solutions. ( The key to doing well using the Destroyer is to study the answers: There are a lot of information in the solutions). I started with Cliff notes 3rd edition for Bio and whatever I didn't know I googled or looked up in the Campbell text book. I didn't use Feralis notes, I found them way too dense and a duplication of Cliff's notes. I had just finished Orgo and I had an amazing professor so it was still very fresh in my mind. 3 weeks before the test, I started timing myself picking 40 bio questions from destroyer, 30 from GC and ORGO and a full math test from the math destroyer. For the rest I was recommended Topscore to practice reading and PAT. The key to doing well on the DAT is first understand the concepts and then conquer the Destroyer.
I'm glad it's over and I got it done the first time. Feel free to ask any questions

Wow you did awesome! How many times did you go through bio destroyer? I am nervous about the breadth of this section.

Sent from my iPhone using SDN mobile
I went through the destroyer 3 times. The first time it was brutal, but by the 3rd round it all started to make sense and concepts start to click in.

Did you feel that your 3rd time going through destroyer was necessary for you to get the scores you did or would 2 times have been sufficient?

What were you scoring on practice tests during/after your first time through destroyer?
I was scoring low 20's but I didn't get discouraged. I rewrote my mistakes and reviewed them so I wouldn't make them again. I would also go over questions I got correct just to reinforce those topics in my head.

I don't think that 2 times is enough. The destroyer has a wide range of topics within the 3 sciences in order to prepare for any and all possible versions of the exam you might receive. Reviewing the destroyer twice just isn't enough if you truly want to cement/solidify the material into your head. If you put in the time, you will reap the rewards. Im a firsthand witness to those words.

Damn ok, you've inspired me. Ima go through it 3 times.

Haha thanks. August 8th... low key want to reschedule though. I've gone through g chem destroyer twice and o chem once (starting round 2 today).

I suggest you work on the topics you have difficulty with. If OC is easy and you are scoring well, work on something else. I also suggest doing BC by topics, such as all the taxonomy questions.

What about Bio?
Bio is my weakness. Scored very low on the last bio test I took. I went through bio destroyer once and made flashcards for each problem. I'm going to attempt to go through each one every day, or at least the majority of the cards every day.
Last gchem test I got an 18, last o chem was a 20, and last bio was below 16 (this one was taken weeks ago)

Was it from BC exams 6-10, because those tend to be harder. You need to have good understanding of the topics. Maybe read cliffs one more time on the topics you did bad on. Understanding random facts without comprehension isn't good. Remember, the bio exam is breath over depth.

Congratulations!

DAT Beast Destroyed! Thanks for the breakdown and proving once again it takes hard work to hit these high scores.

Enjoy what is left of summer before school begins. You should have your choice at top schools with scores like these.
