Did you guys make your own flashcards for the mcat? Was it helpful or waste of time? At first, I was thinking about buying the "MCAT in a box" which is around 700 flashcards, but then I thought I should make my own flashcards. So, I was wondering if you guys did this for the mcat. And how many flashcards did you end up using? I find flashcards useful, but it is very time-consuming to make them.

It is very time consuming... so I bought MCAT in a box. I haven't received it yet so I can't tell you what I think, but even if I only find 100 useful cards then I think it's worth the $32 I paid on amazon.

I'll also be using this site that someone posted http://www.flashcardexchange.com/tag/mcat
It's not a free site but you get access for life for 20 bucks. I imagine it will be useful in med school too.

After combining these resources, I'll then probably create my own flashcards for more depth.

what i'm doing is i'm taking 2-3 page notes on each chapter in the kaplan bio-review and condensing each chapter's notes into 2-3 flashcards.

i used to hate making and studying from flashcards but i find that it is very helpful with the MCATs.

the best thing is that you can take them anywhere and just glance at them, you don't even have to sit down and actually "study" just have them around and make best use of your time.

for example when i'm watching the yankees game, a commercial comes on and i glance at them.

I only made notecards of the things I really didn't know, and could be easily put on notecards (no paragraphs). That way, it didn't take too much time (I just made them as I read the EK chapters), and they were pretty useful.

I made my own flashcards and found them very useful. It was extremely time consuming. However, doing content review was much quicker once the flashcards were made. I also used Kaplan flashcards (the ones given with the course) which i also found useful.

yes, i made flashcards while doing content review. when i was doing tons of practice questions, i made a flash card of anything that struck me as extra important or something i missed (or figured i might forget). basically, whenever the mood struck me i made one. it was a deck of cards bound with rings, so they never came apart. i took them everywhere leading up to the test. definitely useful. during the AAMC tests i routinely saw things (tidbits) from my flashcards. i can't remember if there were any on the real thing though.

whenever i went to see a movie, and i got there early. instead of cursing those f***ing fandago puppets i just sat there calmly going through my cards. win win.👍
