anyone(from UF) you know ...didn't get in UF with 3.5 GPA or higher...
i think almost everyone with 3.5GPA or higher all got in
at lest people i know ... even one with really low DAT scores ..17/17/18 ??

don't know any UF predents, but i wouldn't doubt it....

many people not from UF have been put on the alternate list or rejected.... many with 3.5-4.0's with 20-24 DAT scores.

UFs 2010 dental class has 1 student represented from my alma matar (a very large, and respected state school of florida)......

Same thing from my school. Except a very, very small number of people applied to dental school from my school so it was kind of expected. Do you know how many applied from your alma mater?

no clue, but i'm guessing somewhere between 30 and 50?

I'm from UF and I have a 3.55 overall and 3.47 science GPA with 22/22/22 and got flat rejected from UFCD. So it definitely happens . . . and I was pissed.

again, i counted the number of pple in the freshman class from UF. It was 50 percent....but i heard there are like 400 pre dents at UF.

At my interview I asked if they show preferance to UF undergrads, they said no.
However it does make sense for UF to have so many predents b/c of the program itself, and the fact that you have such a wealth of information right in front of you. I go to a small out of state private college, and I am the only one who has applied to dental school in the past 5 or 6 years, so no one had any information to help me, thats why I was so happy to find a place like SDN!!! 🙂

i didn't get waitlisted, just flat out rejected from UF. my overall GPA was 3.72, science GPA 3.66, and DAT score of 20 on the PAT and 19 on the academic average. no idea what i did wrong to get rejected, i wasn't very nervous during the interview either. so i wish i knew what sposetti was thinking, but who knows.

i hear they place a looot of weight at the interview. I just went in there and was myself...very friendly and open. You just gotta be cool with it. If you are a nice guy or gal but are too nervous at the interview, how will they know that you are friendly? you might be.....you might not be. Just chill with them, i think that works the best.

Are kidding me??? 400 predents?? I think something like 200 seems about right, of those 200, how many are hardcore predents??? Like our school, I'd say we have about 400 pre-meds, but I think we have only 20 hardcore pre-meds. And our advisor told me that about 50 ppl from our school have applied to dental school. Of those 50, how many are hardcore pre-dents? I'd say 30.

well, i asked dr sposetti and she told me 400.....thanks man, im on sdn instead of studying, im really screwed. good luck with your exams too although im not sure which classes you are taking. we had 50 pple apply to dental school this yr? Wow....

If she said that, then the source is reliable. I have five final exams next week, ew. I went to the Monday Biochem lecture to accompany a friend, and he was talking about making purines, and an intermediate I saw was dUMP...yep DUMP lol!
