I'd just like to point out that some insurance companies pay for homeopathy, sooooooo . . .

And some insurance companies cover meteorite damage...point? Not all homeopathy is quackery.

Ah, sorry, thought we were on the side of science in this thread. Yes, all homeopathy is quackery. The whole field is based on the concept of a solution containing the "memory" of the diluted-beyond-all-recognition substance it was mixed with and "like curing like." Unless that "like curing like" idea is an allusion to treatments such as vaccination (just a hint, it's not), homeopathy is firmly in the domain of quackitude. For the record, I agree that some OMM is useful; my comment was more to point out that insurance companies sometimes do shell out for feel-good BS treatments.

As for meteorite damage, I'm pretty sure that while rare, it does happen on occasion.
