From what I've heard there are more reaction in ochem 2 than ochem 1.

Ochem 2 is basically just reagents and the same pattern repeats in many of the reactions (carbonyll attack) Nothing like ochem 1 where you learned different concepts like chairs, fisher peojections, stereochem etc. Many of those concepts you use again but its mainly reagents and reactions.

Organic I provides the foundational language through which you will learn Organic II. The content is very different - both in terms of subject and style.

orgo 1 -- building blocks, very simple one step reactions, terms, definitions
orgo 2 - everything gets put together, the train moves about 100 mph faster

That's quite the overstatement, I wouldn't say that 2 is much faster than 1, if at all.

Basically o-chem 1 is super conceptual and o-chem 2 is a bunch of memorization.

Everyone I've ever talked too is convinced that one is harder than the other though many disagree on which that is. I really think it depends on your learning style, your school and even your teacher. If you've already had organic 1, review the material and read the next couple of chapters to get a head start on 2 because regardless of which you find harder you will need to understand 1 to follow along in 2.

Orgo 1 is conceptual and revolves more around understanding what's happening within the organic molecule. Fischer, chirality, stereochemistry, then you start into reactions.
Orgo 2 felt like just memorization. Starting product + reagent = ?. Also depending on your institution you may have IR and H NMR spectroscopy in orgo 2 rather in orgo 1, which are not as difficult as stereochemistry as I've learned from personal experience.
For me. Orgo 2 was much easier then orgo 1

I was in the quarter system so the middle part of ochem was an absolute nightmare. We learned so many reactions for each midterm that we were hitting around 20-30 reagents/mechanisms. Ochem 1 is very foundational which can be tricky for some people but good to get a grasp on for later stuff. Last 10 weeks of ochem was a breeze since a lot of the reagents were the same just different starting molecules.

Also IR and H NMR we got tested on every exam in ochem. It sucked

Eh, I suppose it varies between schools and professors. For me, I had the same prof for orgo 1 and then orgo 2 and comparing the speed of both, orgo 1 was much slower. Granted, it was still a fast-paced class, but compared to orgo 2, yeah we flew through chapters.

orgo 2 so many more reactions and mechanisms. Orgo 1 just need to know reactions of alkenes and alyknes and sn1/e1/e2/sn2.

Orgo 2 requires more effort, but their is a repeating pattern in reactions.

Twice the crying, twice the hair loss, and twice the weight gain in ochem 2.

Jk 😉 Ochem 2 is all reactions. Understand the fundamentals of how/why reactions happen and prepare to memorize. You'll be fine if you put in the work, best of luck!
