I want to teach myself the basics of organic chemistry, and the everyone online seems to indicate that the book Pushing Electrons by Daniel Weeks is a great resource. The 2nd ed. is considerably cheaper than the 3rd ed. off Amazon ($2 vs. $19. Yes, I am a poor, frugal college student). Does anyone know if there are considerable differences between the two editions?

I've been looking and looking for the answer to this question online for the past few days, but haven't been able to dig anything up. Hopefully someone here will be able to point me in the right direction.

Since it's for teaching yourself and not for a class, I bet the 2nd edition would be fine (even if for a class you're usually ok, but sometimes things like pg numbers, problems don't match up).

Many times libraries will have copies of these books so you can go try and check it out for yourself if you are really worried. Though I don't know specifically, I doubt there is much of a difference. I would feel pretty safe about getting the 2nd edition, especially since it's only 2 bucks.
