Can someone tell exactly what classes count as science courses for the aamcomas because my science gpa is 3.53 according to AMCAS using the BCMP system (biology, chemistry, math, and physics)....but in the aamcomas my science gpa balloned up to 3.63. Do they include behavioral sciences in those calculations because i did well on those?

my amcas differed from aacomas as well..i believe it is because aacomas does not factor math courses into your science gpa...amcas does consider math as part of the science gpa

thanx...

I believe AACOMAS doesn't factor the first time you took a class in when you retake it when calculating a GPA.

My AACOMAS GPA is 0.2 higher than my AMCAS GPA and my Science GPA is 0.3 higher.

This is really where a post-bac pays off. 😀

quick question, you can only list courses as a repeat on aacomas if you repeated them within the same institution right? i did a post-bacc program after my undergrad..i basically took the undergrad pre-reqs again because i didnt do well in them during my undergrad. i did not list those courses as a 'repeat' though since they are at different institution. i just want to make sure i listed it correctly as additional courses, not as repeat courses. thanks! 🙂

Anytime you've repeated a course, it goes down as a repeat. Regardless of where you took it.

They have a funky way of designating them too, I'm just glad they don't put the big "X" verificaiton mark next to it when they change something b/c they changed the type of repeat I listed to a different type... but it was repeat all the same.

Anyway to answer your question. Only the post-bac courses will count towards your GPA. I'm sure AACOMAS will figure it out and change it if necessary, but it sounds like this should give you a nice GPA boost too...

If you took gen chem 3 times, would you list it as: repeat01, repeat01, then last repeat01?

Also, the first time I took a class it was a quarter class and the second time, it was a semester class. Does anyone know how to input that as a repeat?

Thx!
