Hi,

I need some info regarding if any diploma/certificate short courses are offered in different aspects of Dentistry here in US. If so are foreign dental graduates are accepted in these programs?

Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

Thanks

Mega😕

Do you mean Continuing Education courses? The ones US dentists use to obtain credits in order to maintain licensure. Well if you're talking about those, yes, most of them will accept foreign trained, 'cause there isn't much you can do with this certificate anyway. It isn't like it you'll allow you to do anything dentistry related.

Just do a search on Google and you'll find plenty, or call your local dentistry association or dental school, they usually hold those.

Thanks Meggs for your reply

I don't mean Continuining education programs. I will try to explain my point this time more clearly & hopefully somebody can help me.

I mean to attend short courses which will help me to learn the latest technology applied here & help in my practice back home. Certificate programs like a short course in Fixed orthodontics appliances, Implants etc etc.

NYU has 1 year long courses in different specialties, but they aren't considered specialty studies. These courses are specially for International dentists who are planning to go back home.

Other than that you should look in DentalTown.com or as I said, local associations chapters, they'll be able to inform you better. Also do a search on the internet or ask in the Dental Forum.

I'm sure a lot of those short courses will have some CE credits anyway.

hi! Mega,
I think in CA there r some of this courses going on, i have not much info & those courses are i think hsort courses. I know that UOP offers courses for endo which is 9 days long.(most of the dentist who gets liscense from ca board they attend this course for endo )Dentsply also has such courses, if you r from ca you can ask some forigen dentist they might have some info on this.
