Why do some doctors have their diplomas framed and hung inside their office? Is it because they're insecure and so people can make sure they're actually doctors?

Why do people put up pictures of their family in their office? Why put up shelves for books you won't use? Why decorate at all? Some people like seeing a piece of paper on the wall representing their hard work. Not sure why you have a problem with that. You can decorate your office however you want.
