How can you determine the dipole's rotation in an electric field, as to whether it's clockwise or counterclockwise? Thanks in advance.
 
You'll have to measure it somehow, it's hard to say exactly how without knowing what sort of dipole and experiment you're looking at.

Most of the time though you would not care which way the dipole rotates, only about its initial and final position, which are what directly correlates with its potential energy.
