Can someone recommend good companies for disability insurance for medical students, low premiums, generous coverage.. I've been putting this off, but given the amount of debt med school entails, it's foolish not to get this...

thanks guys..

There's a very good chance your school isn't leaving you unprotected. Ask around/check your tuition and fees statement to see if you actually already have disability insurance. You'll obviously need more post-undergrad med ed, but I don't know of many (any?) people that pick up supplemental disability ins while in school.

My medical school requires that its med students purchase their own insurance. If anyone has a good suggestion, I'd like to know too.

It sucks that they don't at least supply a list of plans previous students have used. Talk to your upperclassmen for suggestions.

My school just wraps disability insurance into our bills. Granted we don't get to choose the plan, but there is enough to do without having to shop for my own insurance. I think we pay $50 a year.
