Just in case there are folks here who may be interested in helping out.
Anyone from my neck of the woods, who may either be lurking around or a member of these forums, I'm sure by now you're aware that the recent bushfires (*) that have affected areas in Adelaide's mid north have been declared a major catastrophe with two people confirmed dead, five critically injured, an as yet unknown number of homes lost, and major losses of livestock and farming land across the region. The 24 hour Emergency Mental Health Triage Service is already in place as the officially listed recovery assistance resource for emotional support, but considering the magnitude of the event, and the fact that farmers are already reporting symptoms of PTSD after having to shoot many of their remaining animals that didn't perish outright in the fires, there's a distinct possibility that more counsellors may be needed to assist victims on a volunteer basis (especially if the MHTS becomes overwhelmed and more immediate assistance is temporarily needed whilst victims wait to be connected with official services).
If you are interested in possibly helping out, and you actually have the ability to do so, please contact Volunteering SA-NT (who are co-ordinating volunteer registration and referral as part of an emergency response) and let them know what skills you have to offer.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can spare some time to help out if needed.
