What is discronia? I have an idea, but more input would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance!!

What some medical students experience, as I did earlier today, where I had to ask a colleague of mine while coming into class on a Monday what day of the week it was.

I, one time during winter, fell asleep on the couch sunday afternoon cause I was hung over watching football. I woke up and it was dark, typical at 6am. I got showered, dressed and went to work. When I got there I realized that it was really still midnight on Sunday, it was one of the weirdest things ever.

You ever get hit by a big wave, get taken underwater and completely lose your sense of whats up or down, it was like that with time, it was a very disconcerting feeling.

kronickm - wow, that must have been pretty bizarre. I had a similar experience once in undergrad - I was pretty sleep deprived, so I laid down to take a nap at 5pm. I woke up and the clock said 7, and I had a class at 7:45am! So I shot out of bed, got in the shower and realized I could still see (I have very poor vision) so I must have slept with my contact lenses in.. Only then did I remember that I had taken a nap and probably didn't sleep through the night. Sure enough, it was 7pm. That kind of disorientation makes me afraid for what will happen to me during residency...:scared:
