I was just glancing at my transcripts and applying differing rules on GPA calculation and I think my difference will be pretty significant obviously favoring the AACOMAS due to retaken classes. I was wondering if some that applied to through both systems could contribute the difference in their GPA's. Its seems crazy that when I apply to DO school my gpa will be near perfect and at MD schools (hopefully) right around their average 🙄. Dual application is SO MUCH FUN😕 .

Hey, I'm not complaining.

AACOMAS GPA: 3.70
AACOMAS Science GPA: 3.65

AMCAS GPA: 3.49
AMCAS BCPM GPA: 3.37

pshh,

mines screwy.

AACOMAS GPA: 3.697
AACOMAS Science GPA: 3.597

AMCAS GPA: 3.70
AMCAS Science GPA: 3.64

Now, I dont know how that came about, but somethin from the AACOMAS side sure is fishy ... no-retakes either.

If AMCAS science GPA is better, then I say the math classes are to blame.

Now as far as why the overall is any different.....I guess aacomas didn't round up.

Nice way to boost the apparent acceptance stats!👍

My GPA is actually better with AMCAS than AACOMAS. Stupid AACOMAS calculates engineering as a science gpa and that really kills me. So I have a higher GPA with AMCAS but it still won't help as AMCAS is much more competitive. If I had that same GPA with AACOMAS, I'd be reasonably well off but unfortunately AACOMAS uses engineering in the science calcuations. Does anyone know if AACOMAS will still consider engineering in the science GPA calculation for 2008?

the only math i took that wasnt AP was stats ... i received AP credit for Cal I and Cal II with a 4 on the BC and a 5 on the AB sub-score.

I dont see how 1 A in a stats course could boost my sci gpa up by .04 ..

It's voodoo I tell ya, voodoo.

My AMCAS GPA was also higher than my AACOMAS GPA. I failed a few classes waaaaaaaaay back the first time I went to college, and that school listed them as 0 credits on the transcript. Yet AACOMAS demanded I put in the "normal" credit hours for them - which brought down my GPA. AMCAS put in the actual credit hours listed on the transcript (0) - which didn't affect my GPA at all.
