Nope. It's optional. 🙂 It might be a good place to mention what you like about DMU and how much you would love to attend their school. You can look over your other secondary applications for questions/suggestions as to what else you might want to add for DMU.

I wrote about the two doctors I worked with that were from Des Moines and the awesome things they had to say about it. Also, I know a student there and wrote about how she is persuading me to attend with all of the amazing things she had to say bout the campus and learning environment... So... I basically just sucked up to them by letting them know my connections to the school, and how I can't imagine going anywhere else! 😎
