DNA viruses will use host machinery to replicate and infect cells. Is the DNA always kept separate from the host DNA or can integration occur as in retroviruses?

DNA viruses can participate in the lysogenic cycle as well

Example: lambda phage, which is a dsDNA virus that can participate in either the lytic or lysogenic cycle (incorporation into host's chromosome)
