Do academic update to improve chances?

Hey all,

Hope everyone had a great holiday/break.

This past fall I recieved a B+ for Biochem, which is a prereq for some of the schools I interviewed (pre-dec) at, but have not yet had an acceptance for (i.e. Upenn/Umich). I'm thinking of doing an academic update because the school might be waiting for this grade before making a decision about me. HOWEVER, if I do update my B+ on AADSAS, it will pull down both my BCP and Sci. GPA. Another part of me thinks it'll make it look worse than I do now. What should I do? Should I leave everything the way it is now or update? Which will be best in your opinion? Thanks!

Let me ask you this.

If those two schools or however many you have left don't interview you are you going to turn down your all 3 acceptances you have and apply again next year/cycle?

If the answer is no then just submit it. You'll be out the cost of transcript requests. You won't have to live with what if in the future.

the 3 schools you have in your back pocket are unlikely to reject you for that B+. Plus you'll eventually have to submit to 1 of those 3 your transcripts anyways so you really can't hide it from them.

I've already interviewed at both those places and just waiting for replies now. No, I will not wait for another cycle obviously lol. Just would like to get into my top choice but am grateful that I got accepted into some schools and already turned down 2 out of 3.

I think that if you put these classes as ones you were planning to take on your application, you should do the academic update. The schools may be waiting for those grades before they'll make a decision on you.
