Do all DO schools only use Interfolio or do they also use VE?

My school said they wont send my LOR to Interfolio... they only use VE. On AACOMAS, it says to use Interfolio though. Do all DO schools only accept Interfolio or should I allow my school to just use VE?

It appears that your only DO school is PCOM. Therefore, according to this list: http://advisingservices.ucdavis.edu/advising/hsa/pdf/virtualEval.pdf, PCOM will accept VE.

my school uses VE as well...my pre med advisor said they have never had any problems in the past, so i dont see why there would be a problem now.

Only NYCOM and of course MSUCOM don't accept VE, but MSUCOM doesn't accept Interfolio either.

I applied last year and used VE with all my applications. None of the schools I applied to had a problem. All letters of eval were received without any catch. Just have your advisor upload the schools you are applying to. Don't worry about using interfolio (though its a good service), VE is free if your school does it for you. Good luck.

The wierd thing with the OP's school, and mine, is that I believe the office will only upload the official committee letter and nothing else. The advisor told me that I would be responsible for any other letters but that the school would hold them.

That sucks for you. My school had my letter writers just mail them the letters and then the counselor would upload them. So you might do a little begging. Good luck.

yea that is a strange....my school puts together a comitter letter/letter packet...included is the comittee letter and my other letters from physicians and professors. they upload everything for me....maybe ask if they can do a letter packet?

Sounds like schools like to add a lot of hassle to a dated way of doing things. I under stand why they had that stuff back in the day before all these handy dandy sites, but now it seems kind of worthless. Seriously, I printed off a form and handed it to my letter writers. They mail it or upload it in. I select them and send it out. Voila.

I think the whole idea of a premed committee is a complete waste of time and effort. All it does is serve to make things more complicated. We need the transcript release from the schools, the rest we can take care of on our own.



Instead we have to fill out even more paperwork, let it sit for weeks/months, get a ten minute interview by a bunch of advisors who write letters that we don't even want and who collect a fee on top of tuition that we pay.

We don't have a few nor an interview and we pick our letter writers. The only problem with our office is the one in the OP.
