No, they do not all require a DO letter. Youll just have to look at their websites, there are not that many programs.

Google osteopathic CIB. You'll learn everything you need to apply to DO schools by reading that PDF. AACOMAS is for DO schools. AMCAS is for MD schools.

I want to attend NOVA and my grandmothers surgeon attended the same school. Would it be more beneficial for me to shadow him with the hopes of getting a LOR? Would this look better because he is a alumni of NOVA?

Couldn't hurt. I shadowed someone that went to Nova. I was going to get a letter from him but I didn't end up needing it.

Just get the letter. It's worth the (relatively minor) effort. And it might just be the deciding factor regarding grtting am interview offer.
