DO and MD personal statements

If someone is applying to both osteopathic and allopathic medical schools and they're personal statements from each program have some of the same things in them is that not good? Should they both be completely different?

I actually had this question as well since I'm applying to both this cycle and was able to find an article:
Is it okay if I use the same personal statement for AMCAS and AACOMAS?

In short though, it is ok to use the same personal statement for both the AMCAS and AACOMAS. What they're both asking is "Why do you want to become a doctor?". While there can be multiple ways you can spin your answer to that question, your answer should be the same.

Just make sure to adjust for the difference in character count as AMCAS is 5300 and AACOMAS is 4500.

AACOMAS actually changed its character count to be the same as AMCAS this cycle, so no further edits are required.
