Wasn't sure what the best folder was for this, but since this one has a lot of people taking additional courses, I figured I might get some replies here.

I know to take my pre-reqs at 4-year institutions, but I'd like to take some extra classes (extra psych or A&P...my college had a more specialized physiology class, low on anatomy...or microbio which I never took) for myself at a community college (b/c it's cheaper).

The application asks what's the last school you went to and highest degree earned. Anybody know if the individual teachers see this on the class roster? I'd kind of rather be seen the same as the other students. I don't know if there would be any bias (positive or negative) if they thought I was taking the class just for kicks.

Also, I just moved to a different area, don't know many people, students at the CC would still be close to my age, so it'd be nice to just fit as a regular and not be seen as a premed. Not sure if others can relate...

(Also, don't know if they'll request transcripts from the college I graduated from...extra hassle...I feel like just listing myself as fresh out of high school...but then I won't have some of the pre-reqs like Psych101 or general bio)

from my understanding, professors usually can access your academic file with your grades and transfer credits. however, it's not really convenient to look it up for them. they usually have to request that information in writing and for good reason.

i'm not sure if the admin will disclose everything on your file like past degrees earned. my guess is that the prof will be oblivious to your previous academic history.

Unlimited, I also graduated from college and am taking some classes at my CC. I put on the app that I had graduated, but they never asked for the transcripts, although I'm taking classes that don't require pre-reqs (A&P). I'm not sure how your school would work, but you could probably use unofficial transcripts to prove that you had taken pre-reqs. Good luck!
