As you guys know, virtually every medical school require 6 credits of english class. They usually say composition strongly recommended. Does that mean that the english class should be designated "writing intensive", or does there just have to be some writing in the class (which almost all english classes have, even if they aren't "writing intensive").

bump, c'mon someone knows this answer 👍

I guess it depends on the school. But, I think that they're looking for classes that actually require some demonstration that you can write clearly, as opposed to some of the BS classes cross-listed with the english department that attempt (for example) to show that "Mark Twain" or "The Lord of the Rings" is a homosexual allegory. Which you're free to take too.

for some of the schools that I've seen, they actually say that you can take composition I and II, and /or literature. so basically you can take two of the compositions together, or one composition with a literature. I would just call the school you are applying to and ask them what their particular requirement is. you can possibly take two literature classes, but I'm not quite sure about this one.
