DO friendly OB residencies in NYC?

Hey everyone,

The search function didn't yield much in the way of info about D.O. friendly OB residencies in NYC. I'll be applying this fall, but am at a loss on how to focus my applications. There are just SO many programs in NYC! I know that St. Luke's-Roosevelt has matched DOs into their program in the past...does anyone know anything about Mt. Sinai? I did an endocrinology elective there as a 3rd year and LOVED it, and I'll be doing a sub-I in OB there this coming Oct/Nov...don't know if it's a total pipe dream. Also heard some rumblings that Beth Israel's program is malignant, which is a pity because they are fairly DO-friendly! I'm not setting my sights on any of the big name programs (probably won't apply to Columbia (though I did rotate there), NYU, or Cornell), but I'd prefer a program with an academic bent. I would also *much* prefer a pro-choice environment, with opportunities for learning to provide contraceptive counseling and abortion care. Any advice?

Thanks...I think I heard someplace that it's a pretty anti-choice environment, though!

If dual accreditation is something that interests you there are a couple of others. Go to osteopathic.opportunities.org, do an advanced residency search, and click dual accreditation box for OB residencies. Last I checked I believe there were 7 or 8 programs.

I heard you aren't allowed to prescribe birth control either.
