Hi,
Does anyone know which PM&R residency programs are DO friendly? I'm about to set up some of my elective rotations and I'd rather do it at programs where I have a chance of getting an interview. Thanks!

All of them. We are likely the single most DO friendly specialty. 😀

Thanks Ruokie. 🙂 I was wondering do you know if most programs require that we take the USMLE or just COMLEX?? How important are board scores vs. recommendations/rotation evals??

All PM&R programs will accept COMLEX, and as a DO student you aren’t required to take the USMLE. A strong USMLE score however does help serve as a basis of comparison against your allo competitors.

It’s all important. But personally I think outstanding rehab LORs/evals will more than offset mediocre board scores. Not necessarily the other way around.

I've recently become interested in PMR and it appears that almost all of the southern cali programs are DO friendly

Thanks so much for all the info! 🙂 BTW, aren't Cali programs impossible to get into?

If cali programs were impossible to get into, no one would get into them. They would not be around very long.
