Once your in dental school, do grades matter? as long as you pass the class, is there any way that lower grades can hurt you (if you just want to be a general dentist)?

If all you want to do is be a general dentist (no interest in ever wanting to specialize), then all you have to do is meet the minimum requirements for your school. If all you need is a 75% average to graduate, then that is all you need to graduate. The only grade you need is a passing grade. As long as you pass all your classes, meet the clinical requirements, pass the NBDE I & II and your regional exam and get state licensure, you can be a dentist.

What do you call the person who graduates last in the class? DOCTOR!

grades: you pass you can be a general dentist
- in order to specialize in oral surgery or anything else, u usually need to be in the top10% of your class, or something around there.. it differs for every schools about
