I graduated UF as an anthropology major 10 years ago with a 2.51 gpa. This gpa was a result of having a parent in a life or death battle with addition, having an undiagnosed learning disorder and suffering from severe undiagnosed depression. I was a high achiever in High school and graduated with a 4.2 weighted GPA so finishing college in this way was very hard for me.

The past few years, I began taking pre-requisites for nursing school and made A’s in Biology, Anatomy and Physio I and II, Chem, Micobiology and all the labs. I also took 14 other classes and made As in them as well. I brought my GPA up to a 2.97 and I need two more classes of As to bring it to a 3.0. I was about to apply to several nursing programs but know that my passion lies in medicine and not nursing. The reason I chose the nursing route was because it was faster, and because I believed I had missed the boat so to speak.

My learning disorder is in math but with accomodations, (which I now have the paperwork for), I’m certain I can do well. I did one semester as a second degree student doing a biology major at FIU but I didn’t love the learning environment there. I am more interested in doing a post-bacc program if I could find one to accept me but I’m not sure whether to not this entire situation is out of reach.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? And does anyone have feedback about any post bacc programs in Florida or elsewhere?

Thanks
