Hello all,
Do I have enough clinical experience to take a semester or two off and just focus on grades and studying for the mcat?
-150 hours worth of shadowing ER (received LOR), Radiology (received LOR), Podiatry (received LOR), Cardiothoracic Surgery and Physiatry.
-400 hours direct patient contact
-50 hours from an Ekg internship
-350 hours working as a CNA at an in-patient. (LOR from CEO of hospital and head therapist all-in-one).
-20 hours worth of volunteering for pool therapy for kids with special needs (got a cerebral palsy patient to walk for the first time in her life in the pool).
-30 hour basic clinical skills course with volunteer patients (students) -took vitals, history, learning what to do in a code situation, blood pathogens and etc.
I am transferring schools and have a very rigorous semester for spring: biochem, physics 1, bio 2, organic lab and statistics or pathophysiology, thus =16 credits.
I plan on have a <10 hour/week job as well and participating in clubs as I always do. After I take my mcat and get my grades up a bit and an LOR from pre-med committee or professors, I plan on getting more hours as well, thanks.
